Everything Travel Group Review
The Bridge Climb is a fantastic way to see the famous Auckland Harbour. The guides were really informative. Along the way; we learnt about the history of the area and some fascinating commentary about the construction. It’s nice to have an experience where you not only enjoy the day out but come away with some great memories. The guys at AJ Hackett do it again!
Suggestions: Definately worth booking in advance, it is often booked up on the day and on the day we went it was very busy.

Latest Questions about Bridge Climb - NZ's Only Bridge Climb (Auckland)
Hi there,
Would we be able to make a booking for 12 people? The online booking option only allows for a maximum of 10.
Is there any weight restrictions for people doing the bridge walk? I understand a moderate fitness is required, what does this look like in reality? Can climb a couple of flights of stairs or need to be able to climb 6 flights non stop? This is my goal for this year after being virtually an invalid with Osteoarthritis and unable to walk properly until Bilateral knee replacement in December 2020
Comments
Hi, there thank you for your question, about Auckland's Bridge Climb. That's a awesome goal to do! The weight restrictions are climbers have to be in between 35 kg and 150 kg.
Does the Auckland Bridge tour operate in windy or very wet conditions
are sunglasses or prescription glasses ok to wear on the climb?
Comments
Hi Kev, yes you certainly can wear prescription glasses or sunglasses on your bridge climb. You will be given an attachment to secure your glasses to your head so they don't come off when doing the Auckland Bridge Climb.
How many people allowed in each group
Comments
Hi Jill, The Auckland Bridge Climb has a maximum group size of 14 people.
Can I take my own camera on the bridge climb?
Comments
Hi Lesley, unfortunately camera's are not permitted on the Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb however photos are taken of the experience for you along the way and you can purchase these at the end.
I am a bit surprised that cameras aren't allowed. Is this for safety reasons or revenue raising?
Hi Stephen. Obviously the Auckland bridge climb business benefits financially from not allowing customers to bring their cameras along as they can sell them photos at the end but the reason why customers aren't allowed to bring cameras is for safety reasons. The NZ transport authority do not allow any foreign objects to be carried by anyone on the bridge as these could potentially be dropped and land on the cars below. So no cameras, phones, keys, wallets, jewellery etc. This is the same with the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb also.
iam abit claustrapbobic..is their any enlosed, dark or cramped spaces to go thru.?
sydney harbour bridge is abit daunting on the approach. and some of it you have to walk backwards i think.... please let me know.
Comments
Hi Margaret, there are no enclosed or dark or cramped spaces on the Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb. There are also no areas where you will need to walk backwards. You will be going through very open areas and it is quite different to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Can you see through the steps/walkways or are they solid?
Comments
Hi Helen, the Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb has mixed grounding. Alot of the walkways are solid but there are a few walkways and steps that are grated so you can partly see through them too.
What is the maximum number of people per party that can do the Auckland harbour bridge climb.
Comments
Hi Rose. The customer to guide ratio is 12:1 so each guide can take 12 customers. So if there is a group of 24 such as yours then there will be 2 guides with the group split into 2. Groups of up to 100 people can be accommodated.
Just wondering whether you have any NSL interpreted tours on the Bridge Climb. I am deaf and am aware that Sydney Bridge Climb has Auslan interpreted tours so wonder about Auckland.
Comments
Hi Margaret, yes Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb certainly do cater for the deaf, this is no problem at all. When you make your booking please just note in the "additional information" field that you are deaf and we will ensure your tour is organised to suit your needs.
what company operates the aucklabd bridge climb?
Comments
Hi Amelia, the Auckland Bridge Climb is operated by AJ Hackett.
How much to do the bridge climb for two 70 yr old pensioners from Cairns, Aust, in May, please. We are reasonably fit, but Marian has a Titanium knee and titanium post in her left tibia. Will this be ok ??Just a little slower at climbing stairs. Many thanks - we look forward to hearing from you.
Comments
Hi John and Marian. You are absolutely fine to participate in the Auckland Bridge Climb with Aj Hackett. It is not done at a fast pace and does not matter if you are a little slower. There is no pensioners price offered on this activity and the cost is $120 per person.
Our children are almost 8yr and are between 23.5kg and 28.5kg. Do you accept that weight as any child 7yr must be obese at 35 kg.
Comments
Hi Valerie unfortunately the minimum weight requirement to do the Aj Hackett Bridge climb is 35kg. Children under this weight are unable to participate.
How does this climb compare with the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb?
Comments
Hi Cilla. Yes, the Auckland harbour bridge climb is very similar to the Sydney harbour bridge climb however the views are obviously different and the Auckland bridge is smaller so you wont go quite as high. It's a fantastic way to see the Auckland city and harbour.
