Hi Richard. Thanks so much for your enquiry about the Private Stargazing Experience near Lake Tekapo. Firstly, yes, there is a sheltered area that is less windy for the experience. The Wine cellar is fully indoors, whilst the stargazing area has enclosed walls but is an open cieling experience. The temperature for the stargazing will be the same as the outdoor temperature, but it is relatively sheltered from the wind. Secondly, there can be other participants from other groups.

This experience is within the Dark Sky Reserve so it's brilliant all year round - provided that the sky is clear :) The only factor to really consider at this time of year is that this is when our days are the longest so the stargazing cannot start until its totally dark outside which occurs after 11pm in december (our longest day is december 21st)
