All aspects were handled professionally by the organisers, we were given plenty of advice on dressing for the cold night's viewing and the team on site had us ready to leave on time. Unfortunately the weather conditions deteriorated before we reached the observation site. We were given a full refund due to the cancellation of the event. Great service.

The booking process was easy, directions given were excellent and reminders arrived promptly. Unfortunately we were unlucky to have cloud cover intervene before we could use the very impressive telescope. We were only in Lake Tekapo for one night and were unable to re book our experience but were advised that a full refund would be made. This was completed following an emailed enquiry to the tour organisers.

We never got to goon the tour due to heavy cloud however communication was great and thy kept the customer experience foremost in their mind when they cancelled it.

Excellent and very knowledgeable, gave us big warm coats, small group max 10 people. Surprisingly they offered us a full refund as clear to start with but sadly after 30 minutes it clouded over, expecting maybe partial refund. Would recommend to all

hi my relatively fit 90 year old mother wants to do this. she walks unaided but not good on hills. how much walking is invovled . we were thinking of around june 22

We'll be traveling to NZ in August and are wondering if this tour is at a time where it may be possible to see the southern lights. I'm sure it's weather permitting but I didn't see any reference to it on the description so I wanted to double check.

Thanks so much for your enquiry into the Silver River Star Gazing tour in Lake Tekapo! While this would be the perfect location for seeing the Southern Lights as the tour is located in our very own Dark Sky Reserve unfortunately the lights can't be tracked and it is impossible to give you a yes or no answer as these are geomagnetic storms and are very unpredictable. Ultimately you will get the full star gazing experience on this trip and the lights would be an added bonus on the night. I would recommend downloading Aroura Apps that can help you track the Geomagnetic storms to give you an idea if this would be possible during your visit

Hiya Thanks for your question. This tour has guaranteed seating for your mother so she can enjoy the experience fully. With respect to walking etc. You will check in at the office of Silver River in Tekapo and here they will shuttle you to the site. I have done this tour before and the site has relatively even ground and is quite flat as it is located in a field just outside of Tekapo township
