Your self-guided cycling journey on the Lake Hawea to Wanaka bike trail begins with a smooth shuttle ride from Wanaka, available at three convenient times in the morning, ensuring you have a full day to enjoy the ride at your own pace. On arrival in Lake Hawea, you'll be equipped with a top-quality e-bike or regular mountain bike and given a thorough safety briefing. Each bike comes with a helmet, lock, repair kit, pump and an 8L Topeak day bag for your essentials, so you can ride comfortably without the need to carry a backpack.
The Lake Hawea to Wanaka bike trail takes you along a stunning 30 kilometre river trail, an easy and family-friendly route that showcases the serene landscapes and tranquil waters of the area. For those seeking a longer ride, additional map routes are available. Once back in Wanaka, the NZ Bike Trails team will conveniently collect the bikes, taking them off your hands so you can explore the town further or relax by the lake.
