Interested in New Zealand’s agriculture? Then a visit to the world-renowned home to multi-award winning ‘Agrodome farm show’ is a must. The tour includes a sheep show – featuring 19 breeds of sheep, live sheep shearing and even a chance to bid in an exciting live auction! The enthusiastic and extremely likeable presenter will guide you through the exciting world of New Zealand farming and will introduce you to the amazingly talented Huntaway dogs – their response to commands and their ability to keep the sheep under control with leave you astounded.
If a direct and hands-on experience of the farming industry is more in line with what you’re looking for, then jump on into the opportunity to feed the extremely cute and cuddly lambs, or go the extra mile and hand-milk a cow.
Also included is the Farm Tour, where you’ll receive knowledge of the industry explained in a detailed fashion, as well as a taste-testing experience of New Zealand’s fruit industry that will leave your tastebuds singing. This one-hour tour offers the experience to view for yourself the intricacies of an authentic working farm. This educational, fun and entertaining encounter will leave you wanting more.
An all-terrain vehicle will guide you across and around the 160-hectare farm. With regular interval stops, the tour allows you to get up close and personal to farm-life; meet Romney Sheep, beef cattle, fallow and red deer, alpacas, llamas, emu and ostriches. The farm tour is a wonderful day for all the family – children and adults alike will have a fantastic time exploring and understanding the marvellous world of New Zealand farming.
