Description

The Gorge is an epic mountain bike park in the heart of the Wairoa Valley, just outside Nelson. Organise your shuttle transfers in advance so you can enjoy over 70km of hand-built mountain biking trails. The Wairoa Gorge Mountain Bike Park offers everything and more for your Nelson biking experience, with trails made up of 21% Grade 3, 52% Grade 4, 32% Grade 5 and even 4% Grade 6. Spend a day exploring native beech forest, relaxing waterfall tracks or technical & challenging trails. Whatever your mountain biking ability, there is something for everyone at Wairoa Gorge Mountain Bike Park in Nelson.

1 Day Scheduled Shuttle Pass
Experience world class mountain biking trails on the outskirts of Nelson with The Gorge's 1 Day Scheduled Shuttle Pass. Providing uplifts throughout the day, this pass gives you access to all trails and each route is numbered to assist with navigation. Don’t forget to stop for a coffee at the day lodge!

1 Day Private Shuttle Pass (up to 8 people)
If you are mountain biking with a group, enjoy more flexibility with a 1 Day Private Shuttle Pass. Ride the trails at your own pace, starting and finishing at a time to suit you.

Trip Includes

• 1 day shuttle pass
• Health & safety briefing
• Access to over 70km of single track
• Scheduled shuttles run constantly throughout the day (8:30am-3pm)
• Huts available on site for rest stops
• 1 radio per group (to communicate between staff & riders)

Other Information

• Please bring: your mountain bike, helmet (preferably full face), full finger gloves, knee & elbow pads, waterproof jacket, sunscreen, riding pack (with snacks & water), towel, change of clothes, picnic lunch, tools & tube/pump/hanger
• There is limited space on shuttles so all gear must be carried with you while riding
• Please note - no solo riders
• First timer? Chat to The Gorge crew on arrival for advice on which trails to start with.
• Bike & helmet hire not available on site
• The Gorge is similar to backcountry riding, so please come prepared on arrival
• If booking a private shuttle, please advise number of riders and preferred start time under 'additional information'
• Allow approximately 1 hour to drive from Nelson to The Gorge due to unsealed roads
