Latest Questions about Fiordland Expeditions Overnight Cruise (Doubtful Sound)
Interested in booking the overnight tour on Tuesday March 4th. 2 adults and 1 infant, the only booking left is bunk room. Does that mean 3 bunk beds in 1 room so it will just be us 3 in a room, or is that 3 bunk beds in a communal room with other people?
As long as the room is private so the baby doesn’t wake anyone, we are fine with any bed arrangement.
Cheers
(1) Does the overnight cruise travel the full length of Doubtful Sound, all the way to the Tasman Sea?
(2) Your two replies to earlier questions regarding the arrival time back at Manapouri appear to contradict each other: does one arrive back at Manapouri at 9:15am or at noon?
Thanks!

Hi,
I have a question regarding the duration of the tour.
In the description, it says the following: "Departure: 10:00am (returns the next day at 9:15am in summer...)". Does that mean that the tour ends at 09:15am back in Manapouri (which would mean quite the early awakening) or is 09:15am the time of departure in Doubtful Sound?
Thanks for clarifying!

What is the best choice of cabin arrangements for the Fiordland Expeditions Overnight Cruise in Doubtful Sound if there are 5 people (2 adults + 3 children) ?
Comments
I would say the best choice for 5 people is the bunk room for your 3 children- it's on the top deck with beautiful viewing opportunities of the stars. Then one of the private cabins for you and your husband. I would recommend with an ensuite so the 5 of you can share that if need be, as although the bunk room has a toilet, it does not have a shower and there is only 1 other shower on the boat

During the Doubtful Sound Overnight they will go all the way out to the Tasman sea! Unless weather caused the swells to be too big and it was decided to be unsafe! The Cruise will arrive at the Doubtful Sound dock at 9:15am you will still have travel time back to Manapouri so you would expect to be at Manapouri at approximately 10:45am!
