I'm leading a tramping club trip to Queens Drive later this month so did a quick recce of the route yesterday. Very useful as I hadn't realised the usual approach up Shadow Basin is currently roped off to the public.
The actual trip date is Sunday 28 Jan. Will the construction crews be working that day? If not, would it be possible to walk the Shadow Basin approach? The route via Lake Alta is well marked and but adds 4 km to the trip length.
